Thanks to Anna, a certified guide and professional painter, you can discover special niche places in Florence. Get away from the most crowded places of mainstream tourism! You will discover little gems that many people don't know about, admire wonderful works of art about which you will be given a variety of information, and have fun replicating their basic painting techniques in a simple and intuitive way thanks to Anna's expert guidance. Don't worry, you don't need any skills to participate in this kind of activity and it is suitable even for those who have no drawing experience at all. You will be able to observe the beautiful works of art in the 'Cenacolo di Sant'Apollonia' (which is the meeting point for the activity), especially the masterpiece “The Last Supper” by Andrea del Castagno, of which the guide will provide you with information and historical details. After that you will be given a short and simple hands-on lesson on the use of perspective in painting in which you will try to replicate its use in The Last Supper You will then visit 'Chiostro dello Scalzo', in which you'll have a chance to admire the beautiful frescoes on the walls. The guide will provide some explanations and historical details about the artworks. After that you will be given a simple hands-on lesson on the basics of the use of chiaroscuro as it is used in the frescoes in the cloister. After that you will stop in the small cloister before the entrance to the 'Basilica della Santissima Annunziata', a real gem! There you will observe the colorful frescoes on the walls of which the guide will provide some explanations and historical details, after which you will receive a simple hands-on lesson on the use of contrast between colors in painting, as is done in the frescoes you find in the cloister. Then you will sit on the steps of the beautiful square 'Piazza della Santissima Annunziata' where you can choose a subject in the landscape that you will paint with Anna's assistance and guidance...a short and fun live painting session! During the tour or at the end of the tour, depending on your preference, you will take a short restful break at a café located on one of the most beautiful terraces in Florence, where you can admire the city from above while enjoying a good coffee or snack.
