This full-day tour is designed for independent travelers who want to see the highlights of the region in a short period of time. You’ll visit Siena, Chianti wine Region & San Gimignano and have a wonderful farm-fresh lunch at an boutique Chianti winery. See Tuscany in a single day! You’ll depart from Florence in the morning, heading to Siena, the first stop on the tour. See the Cathedral of Siena, a great example of Italian Romanesque-Gothic architecture and the Piazza del Campo, where the famous Palio horse race takes place. Admire the cityscape of ochre-colored buildings, with their red clay roofs and green shutters, and the narrow medieval streets. Next on the itinerary is the Winery in Chianti Classico A scenic drive takes you through the picturesque Chianti region. Before arriving in Chianti Classico Wine Region and visit a boutique winery for lunch and tasting. In Chianti, enjoy wine tasting and a traditional lunch of fresh, homemade products straight off the farm. The menu includes handmade pasta and homemade cured meats, salad, and typical local cheese, all served with a plenty of wine from the region. Wines include Vernaccia di San Gimignano, Chianti, Brunello, and Vin Santo, a dessert wine. Explore San Gimignano, known as the City of the Beautiful Towers, and listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Time to climb the Great Medieval Tower and taste the Gelato World Champion On the return trip, you’ll stop at the Piazzale Michelangelo to enjoy the stunning view of Florence.
